Help with Thoth

Need a hand? Email [email protected]. A person reads every message. Keep passwords and recovery codes to yourself; we will never ask for them.

Keyboard shortcuts

To change them: chrome://extensions/shortcuts in Chrome, Brave and most Chromium browsers, edge://extensions/shortcuts in Edge, or Manage Extension Shortcuts in Firefox's add-ons page. Thoth's Settings shows the shortcuts your browser is using. Some browsers keep a shortcut for themselves: Edge uses Ctrl+Shift+K and Ctrl+Shift+Y, and Opera and Vivaldi have many of their own. If a shortcut does nothing, give Thoth a different one there.

Why wasn’t a page remembered?

Thoth remembers pages you spend time reading, with ten seconds of active reading as the default. You can change this in Settings. Blocked sites and sensitive pages, such as sign-in and password pages, stay out of your archive. Use the shortcut above when you want to keep a page right away.

Firefox asks to allow online features

Firefox asks permission before an extension sends data off your device. You can get started with Thoth without enabling online features. Allow them if you want to sign in, search by meaning, or back up your archive. You can change your mind in Firefox's add-on settings.

Your data

Password and recovery

Forgot your password? Use "Forgot password" on Thoth's sign-in page. Your backup recovery code is separate: we cannot see it or reset it, because backups are encrypted with keys only your devices and that code can open.
