Terms of service

Effective October 5, 2026. Operated by Parth Gohil.

These terms cover the Thoth browser extension, the web reader at app.thothmemory.com, and Thoth accounts (together, "Thoth"). Thoth is operated by Parth Gohil ("we"). By installing Thoth or creating an account you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what data Thoth handles.

Using Thoth

You may use Thoth for your own reading and research. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age for online services where you live, and old enough to enter a contract to buy a paid plan. Do not use Thoth to break the law, to break or overload our servers, to get around plan limits or rate limits, or to access anyone else's account.

Your account

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your password and recovery code safe: backups are end-to-end encrypted, so we cannot recover an archive whose recovery code and devices are all lost. You can delete your account at any time from Thoth (Account, Delete account).

Your content

What Thoth saves is yours. We claim no rights to it. Pages you save remain subject to their publishers' rights; Thoth keeps a private copy for you and does not publish it. We process the data the optional features need only to provide them, as the privacy policy describes.

Paid plans

Some features need a paid plan. Prices are shown before you buy, and payment is handled by Stripe. A subscription renews at the end of each period until you cancel it; you can cancel at any time in Account, Manage subscription, and keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for. A free trial, where offered, is once per account. We do not give partial refunds except where the law requires it. If we change a plan's price we will tell you before it applies to your next renewal.

Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: it never renews and there is nothing to cancel. It includes the features listed for it when you buy, in as many of your own browsers as you like, and works entirely on your device. It does not include sync, encrypted backup or search by meaning, which need our servers and are part of Pro and Max. Lifetime lasts as long as we offer Thoth; if we ever stop, the copy of Thoth you have keeps working with your local archive. Refunds follow the same rule as other plans.

Changes and availability

Thoth is under active development. Features may change, and we may suspend an account that breaks these terms. We will give reasonable notice before discontinuing a paid feature, and your local archive keeps working without our servers.

No warranty

Thoth is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable and your data safe, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will save every page you expect. Keep exports of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting mandatory consumer protections where you live.

Changes to these terms

We will post changes here with a new effective date and announce material changes in the extension. Continuing to use Thoth after a change means you accept it.
